Telephone and Internet

Telephoning the UK, or for that matter any other country from hotels in Egypt is prohibitively expensive, at an average rate I found of around £1 a minute. There are some Internet Cafés in both Cairo and Luxor which charge considerably less, but generally speaking, the best way I found was to make a short call home, and then request that they ring you back. It is always cheaper to call Egypt from the UK than is the other way around. Bear in mind though that some hotels make a minimum charge for international calls of around LE 35, equvilant to a 3 minute charge.

Internet access is available at most of the larger hotels, and the many Internet Cafes in both Cairo and Luxor for very reasonable rates, with surprisingly very little difference in terms of cost between the two. The rates seem to be around LE 5 for 15 minutes, or LE 10 for 30 minutes, which represents very good value for money, and is a very good way of keeping in touch. It may make sense for you to set a Yahoo or hotmail account, and ask your partner to transfer any important messages to you in this way.

Spiritual Matters

An increasing number of people are being guided to visit Egypt at this time, and it is very easy to see why, given its history. The whole country, from my perspective seems to be situated in a whole other dimension, far higher in frequency than any I have encountered before. On arrival this took some time to acclimatise to. The same was also true on departure, as it took me some time to feel fully present in my life at home. Bearing this in mind, many may find it very hard to keep themselves adequately grounded. There are several ways of assisting this process, including visualisation techniques whereby etheric roots are used to anchor the physical form. Several crystals can help in this regard, especially haematite, tigers eye, obsidian and red jasper. These can either be carried in pockets, or worn as jewellery, either as a necklace or bracelets around the wrists or ankles, depending on the size of your feet! Simply voice your intent that the bracelets are to be used for this purpose and ensure that they are cleansed on a regular basis.

Egypt is almost unrivalled in its capacity to stir distant memories and emotions from past lives. Sometimes these can be rather intense and difficult to handle. Be prepared for this, but also remember to place them in context with the life you are living now. Yes, the past is important, and can help us to understand who we are in this life. On the other hand though, this is the life we are living now, and it is important to experience this fully without getting too caught up in our past. A tape recorder may be a useful accessory for recording any thoughts and feelings that do come up, together with channelled messages from spirit, if you work in this way.

Tours for those people who are interested in the spiritual aspects of Egypt are usually advertised in magazines such as Kindred Spirit and Paradigm Shift, as well as the back of Cygnus Book Club magazine.
